A conference on the silver economy development was held in Haimen district, Nantong, on March 18, attracting over 200 participants including heads of senior care institutions, academic experts, and entrepreneurs from silver economy-related industries across the country.

The event featured a dedicated exhibition zone showcasing Haimen's silver economy specialties, spanning biopharmaceuticals, modern home textiles, eco-friendly agricultural products, and cultural tourism-integrated wellness products.

The conference also launched the "Fanghua Haimen" elderly care brand and witnessed the signing of 12 high-quality silver economy projects covering elderly services, senior product manufacturing, senior-friendly tourism, and anti-aging products.

As population aging accelerates, the silver economy is increasingly emerging as a new growth engine. Nantong, renowned as a "home of longevity", leads Jiangsu province in average life expectancy and centenarian population.

Haimen has spearheaded the development of the silver economy in the city. The district has recently implemented a silver economy strategy and built its "Yiyang Dongzhou" urban brand. It has been recognized as an exemplary region for pragmatic advancement in the construction of the elderly care system in Jiangsu province. It was also shortlisted among the first batch of national medical-care integration demonstration zone pilot units.
