Hai'an emerges as key hub for regional connectivity

Leveraging its multimodal transport via rail, road, and waterways, Hai'an Trade and Logistics Park is rapidly emerging as a vital hub for Nantong's logistics industry. In 2024, the park handled over 10 million metric tons of railway cargo and processed more than 50,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) at its inland terminal. Its bonded logistics center also ranked among the top 20 in the country.

The park's railway logistics base is currently conducting pre-departure testing for the upcoming China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan cross-border freight train, which will soon operate on a regular schedule. This marks the second international rail route from the park aside from the Vietnam-bound service.

In October 2024, the Nantong International Freight Train Company was established within the park, making it the only international freight train company in Jiangsu province based in a county-level city. Since its launch, the company has expanded its reach to Vietnam, Laos, Kazakhstan, and Russia, strengthening export-oriented economic development in Nantong and the central Jiangsu region.

The park has been strategically developed to align with local industrial needs, featuring six key functional platforms: multimodal transport, bonded logistics, futures delivery, spot trading, cold chain logistics, and express delivery services. Additionally, it has established six distribution centers for non-ferrous metals, plastic raw materials, textile materials, fresh cold-chain products, grain, and steel.

To enhance its logistics network, the park has also partnered with over 30 national logistics hubs and major logistics enterprises across Chongqing, Jiangxi, and other regions.
