Gallery displays woodblock paintings by Nantong, Anqing artists

The Jiangsu Nantong-Anhui Anqing Woodblock Painting Exchange Exhibition recently opened at the Qidong Art Museum in Nantong and will run until Dec 28.
The exhibition has brought together 80 exquisite works from 48 artists in Nantong and Anqing, showcasing distinct styles, a wide range of subjects, and diverse art forms, offering visitors a treat for the eyes and a balm for the soul.
Nantong is a city with a rich cultural and historical heritage and has given rise to many influential cultural figures, leading to the creation of the unique Jianghai Culture. Its woodblock painting, after being passed down through generations, remains as fresh as ever. Today, woodblock painting has become an integral part of the Nantong Phenomenon in Chinese art. This year, five woodblock paintings from Nantong were selected for the 14th National Art Exhibition.
Anqing, another city with a long and storied history, has always been a place of great talent and cultural prosperity. It has nurtured generations of master craftsmen, leaving behind numerous dazzling cultural heritage items. Anqing's woodblock painting artists are continuously developing and improving the unique artistic style.
Anqing and Nantong are both located in the Yangtze River Delta region and have had a strong connection since ancient times. In recent years, the two cities have engaged in extensive cooperation, with the ongoing exhibition serving as a bridge to further deepen their friendship and cooperation.
