Bonded zone in NETDA leads cross-border e-commerce growth
Since being designated as one of Nantong's first cross-border e-commerce workstations, the Cross-Border E-Commerce Industrial Park in the Nantong Comprehensive Bonded Zone of the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area has been driving the region's e-commerce development.
The bonded zone is the only place in Jiangsu province to host warehouses for top cross-border e-commerce platforms, including Tmall Global, Douyin, Kuaishou, Pinduoduo, and Meituan. Its logistics services for cross-border e-commerce are available in every city in China.
"Currently, over 20 cross-border e-commerce enterprises have set up operations in the zone, offering more than 20,000 types of products," said a representative from the management office of the bonded zone.
This year, the bonded zone is expected to achieve cross-border e-commerce imports worth 1.25 billion yuan ($172.01 million), a year-on-year increase of over 20 percent. It has shipped more than 5.5 million cross-border e-commerce orders. The zone ranks first in Jiangsu province in the value of imports, domestic sales orders, and sales revenue. Its import value accounts for about 60 percent of similar operations across the province, setting a new benchmark in the sector.
