Nantong University in Jiangsu province recently held an unveiling ceremony for its School of Advanced Energy Storage and Intelligent Manufacturing Industry.

Xu Jun, vice-president of NTU, delivered a welcome speech at the ceremony, thanking guests from various sectors who have long supported the university's development.

He emphasized that the school's establishment is meant to help NTU meet the requirements of higher education in supporting high-quality economic development and serve the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and regional industrial transformation and upgrading.

He expressed hope that the new school will actively promote innovation in practical education and the application of scientific research achievements, striving for greater breakthroughs in the deep integration of high-quality education, talent, and industries.

As the school's first executive dean, Hua Liang introduced the preparation and construction efforts. He stated that the School of Advanced Energy Storage and Intelligent Manufacturing Industry would focus on the long-term energy development strategies of the nation and region and rely on the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the School of Electrical Engineering to facilitate the deep integration of industries and education.

The new school also issued appointment letters to 12 industry mentors, including Chang Haitao, chief scientist of Nanfu Group, and Xu Liqiang, general manager of the East China Base of Shenzhen Senior Technology Material.

During the ceremony, the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of NTU and the School of Materials and Chemical Engineering of Soochow University signed a strategic cooperation agreement.
