Home textile companies from Haimen district, Nantong, are increasingly making their mark on the international stage, with their innovative and high-quality products gaining widespread popularity in multiple countries.

Jiangsu Fujidao Mei'an Textile Technology Co Ltd, a prominent enterprise in the region, is an innovative leader in the textile industry. It has developed a groundbreaking material known as polylactic acid (PLA) high-performance fiber, mastered advanced spinning techniques, and created specialized equipment for high-quality fiber production, resulting in 11 patents for the company. These innovations have also received certification from international authorities.

At the recently concluded 2024 Global Apparel Conference, the company's down jacket, made from PLA high-performance fibers, was honored as one of China's top 10 textile products.

Products made with PLA fibers are both eco-friendly and highly functional. They are 100 percent biodegradable, naturally antibacterial, resistant to mites, and dust-free. The fibers also have targeted antibacterial properties and a mildly acidic pH, making them safe and gentle for skin and eyes.

According to Zhang Chong, chairman of the company, the company's innovative products received significant interest at the 136th Canton Fair, where international buyers placed orders after learning about the material's exceptional qualities. Zhang also revealed that the company is accelerating the construction of a large-scale PLA fiber production line, with phase one expected to start mass production in June next year. The company plans to introduce a range of products, including pillows, duvets, and down jackets, once the production line is operational.

Another standout company from the district is Nantong Weyada Textile Co Ltd, which has also been thriving in the global market.

Chairwoman Chen Fangfang shared that their blankets were highly sought after at the Canton Fair, with buyers from countries such as Palestine placing substantial orders. To cater to diverse consumer preferences worldwide, the company has developed a variety of premium blankets, including flannel, cotton velvet, milk velvet, tafeta fleece, and snow fox fleece. These products have received widespread acclaim and are now sold in over 100 countries.
