Nantong in Jiangsu province recently unveiled a plan to develop a high-end, intelligent, and green manufacturing industry.
By 2025, Nantong aims for the added value of its manufacturing sector to represent 40 percent of the city's GDP, with strategic emerging industries comprising 40 percent of industries above the designated size.
By 2030, Nantong plans to establish advanced manufacturing clusters at the national level and develop a robust advanced manufacturing system, technological innovation system, and industrial ecosystem.
To accomplish these goals, Nantong has introduced the following measures.
Nantong will develop two major events – Nantong Ship and Marine Engineering Exhibition and New-Generation Information Technology Expo.
The city is expected to continue to advance its marine industry while revitalizing traditional sectors, expanding emerging industries, and nurturing future industries.
Efforts are set to be made to attract Global Fortune 500 companies, China's top 500 enterprises, central and listed businesses, and to support leading enterprises across diverse industrial chains.
Additionally, Nantong aims to expedite the modernization and transformation of manufacturing processes and equipment, and to enhance research and development in the light, textile, and chemical engineering sectors.
By 2025, Nantong aims to establish 640 intelligent workshops (factories), 80 provincial intelligent manufacturing factories, and over 100 green factories at the provincial level or above.
