Tongzhou district in Nantong, Jiangsu province has been actively fostering a comprehensive service support system that covers various stages of enterprise development, from startups to growth and expansion, continuously enhancing its innovation ecosystem.

This year, Tongzhou has collected over 90 recent technology-related demands from enterprises, organized or participated in nine industry-academia-research activities, and facilitated effective collaborations between over 90 companies and prestigious universities such as Jilin University, Zhejiang University, and Nantong University, resulting in 61 new industry-academia-research cooperation projects with a contract value of 28.01 million yuan ($3.91 million).

On July 2, the unveiling ceremony of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Nantong Advanced Technology Research Institute was held at Jianghai Zhihui Park in Tongzhou. Leveraging the resources of SJTU, the institute will focus on areas like new materials, intelligent equipment, green marine engineering, and general aviation to foster talent in innovation and entrepreneurship and provide intellectual support for the district's economic and social development.

To support the development of scientific and technological innovation enterprises in the region, the Tongzhou district science and technology bureau also helps provide various financial products.

These products, with the government assuming a portion of the loan risks, assist enterprises, especially early-stage scientific and technological innovation companies, in addressing financing challenges due to lack of collateral. To date, Tongzhou has supported over 200 companies and 340 scientific and technological projects, with a total loan amount of 1.42 billion yuan.
