The third Nantong Beer Carnival kicked off at Nantong Binjiang Sports Park in Jiangsu province at 7 pm on July 28, local media reported.

Folk dancers and bandsmen from Germany offered a spectacular performance to festival-goers at the opening ceremony.

The city's cultural and tourism attractions as well as the arrangements for the beer carnival were introduced and preferential policies for professionals working in the city were unveiled at the ceremony.

The festival this year highlights six exhibition areas, which include a 3,600-seat beer area, a performance area for bands and singers, a food area with 30 stalls offering barbecue, seafood, desserts and other delicacies, and an outdoor entertainment area featuring camping facilities.

The festival will also host 10 activities involving the introduction of travel routes in Nantong, the announcement of preferential measures taken by local scenic areas, hotels, and travel agencies, sporting events, dating events for young singles, consumption promotion activities, and art performances.

Now in its third year, the Nantong Beer Carnival has become a beacon of Nantong's nighttime economy. This year, the area of the festival's venue has expanded to 45,000 square meters.
