The first Dongbuzhou International Art Festival is set to take place from August 3 to 11 in the Linjiang New Area of Haimen district, Nantong, Jiangsu province, as announced by local authorities.

This vibrant festival will offer a rich array of activities, including theatrical performances, art discussions, and exhibitions, all designed to bring together residents and puppet art enthusiasts from around the globe.

Highlighting the event are seven national-level intangible cultural heritage troupes and six renowned international troupes, who will present over 100 performances featuring music, puppetry, shadow play, and dance.

Linjiang, which was a weed-infested wasteland just a decade ago, has recently transformed into a hub of scientific innovation and cultural industries, making it the perfect backdrop for this groundbreaking festival.
