Rudong county in Nantong, Jiangsu province has been effective in encouraging local manufacturing enterprises to transition into service-oriented businesses.

In the first half of 2024, the list of demonstration enterprises and platforms for service-oriented manufacturing in Nantong for 2023 was announced, including three enterprises from Rudong. This brings the total number of county-level service-oriented manufacturing demonstration enterprises in Rudong to six. These enterprises cover a range of services including customized services, energy conservation and environmental protection services, supply chain management, and overall integration and contracting.

"We have increased guidance and training for enterprises to help them apply to become county-level, provincial-level, and national-level service-oriented manufacturing demonstration enterprises," said Yuan Weihua, deputy director of the Rudong development and reform commission.

Rudong aims to add new provincial and municipal-level service-oriented manufacturing demonstration enterprises by 2024, with no fewer than eight industrial design centers across the county.
