On May 28, a massive Chinese cargo ship set sail from Shanghai Port. Among the goods on board were 36 electric cars from Nantong Yaojunfeng New Energy Technology Co Ltd, a company based in Rudong, Nantong, Jiangsu province.

This marks the third batch of goods sent to Africa since the company, with the assistance of the cross-border e-commerce platform Djimart, established a presence in the Jibouti International Free Trade Zone's global exhibition hall.

Djimart is a Chinese business-to-business platform officially partnered with the Jibouti International Free Trade Zone, granting it exhibition rights within the free trade zone. In the current global economic slowdown, which has led to insufficient demand and increased export pressure for companies, the Rudong bureau of commerce took the initiative to engage with Djimart and actively seek cooperation.

Since the end of last year, the two parties have negotiated a three-year service agreement. The Rudong bureau of commerce is responsible for guiding and facilitating the registration and online presence of enterprises, while the platform is tasked with setting up a Rudong-specific area in the global exhibition hall of the free trade zone and providing exclusive logistics services to help companies enter the African market.

Currently, 17 companies from Rudong have completed online registration on Djimart, covering a range of products across various sectors, including sports equipment, food machinery, textile accessories, home textiles, and clothing. The "Rudong Zone" in the global exhibition hall of the free trade zone is set to debut in Djibouti later this year.

"We plan to facilitate the online presence of at least 50 manufacturing companies on Djimart within the year. Through cross-border e-commerce, we aim to actively help foreign trade enterprises make new connections, secure new orders, and explore new growth opportunities," explained Chen Yabing from the Rudong bureau of commerce.
