Wu Xinming, Party secretary of Nantong, Jiangsu province, led a delegation to the United States to engage in trade and people-to-people exchanges from June 5 to 8.

During the four-day visit, the delegation introduced Nantong's industrial foundation, business environment, and investment opportunities and promoted friendly exchanges between sister-cities.

Wu met with representatives of Nantong businesspeople in the US, briefing them on the city's economic and social development.

He expressed hope that they will serve as a bridge for people-to-people exchanges between China and US and spokespeople for their hometown of Nantong. Wu also encouraged them to bring more high-quality projects and high-profile talent to Nantong.

Wu also met with Larry Klein, mayor of Sunnyvale, California, and Tony Spitaleri, former mayor of Sunnyvale, to discuss cooperation between the two cities. He then shared his insights on tackling climate change together, developing green energy, and building zero-carbon industrial parks with experts from California-China Climate Institute and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
