Representatives of Shanghai Ocean University on April 26 signed a strategic cooperation agreement to establish a research institute in Haimen district, Nantong, Jiangsu province.

This initiative aims to create a dynamic hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, offering a comprehensive public service platform encompassing research and development, technology transfer, business incubation, industrialization, and talent development.

The institute's primary focus will be on attracting major projects, cultivating influential enterprises, and nurturing talented individuals within key sectors such as marine biomedicine, aquaculture, food safety, marine equipment, and engineering, according to authorities.

This collaborative effort signifies Haimen's continued commitment to strengthening its marine industry through strategic partnerships with academic institutions.
