Tongzhou sees surge in tourists during holiday
Tongzhou's cultural and tourism market experienced a peak in visitor numbers during the Qingming holiday from April 4-6.
According to official statistics, over the three-day holiday, A-grade scenic spots in the district welcomed a total of 100,000 visitors, marking a significant 78.8 percent year-on-year increase. The provincial-level tourist and leisure street, Nanshanhushui Street, saw 26,000 visitors during the holiday period.
Since March, attractions featuring plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, and tulips have been gradually opening to the public, and the enthusiasm for spring outings and flower viewing has been steadily increasing.
For the Qingming holiday, Zhouji Menghuan Island launched an evening viewing event for cherry blossoms, attracting tens of thousands of visitors from neighboring cities to admire the romantic cherry blossoms. "The cherry blossoms under the night lights have a unique charm and are definitely worth a visit," said a visitor surnamed Wu from Wuxi.
Additionally, the tulip viewing event in the Flower Town, the cherry blossoms at Zhouji Green Expo Garden, and activities like barbecue camping parties and bonfire evenings at the To Journey Camping Site have also attracted a large number of tourists, injecting new vitality and energy into Tongzhou's tourism market.
