Tongzhou district in Nantong, Jiangsu province has made significant strides in the intelligent transformation of its manufacturing industry through a three-year action plan.

In 2022 and 2023, Tongzhou implemented nearly 1,000 projects under the plan. The district provided free diagnostic services to 495 enterprises in need and promoted the implementation of 265 intelligent technological transformation projects.

Shennan Circuits Co Ltd, located in the Nantong National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, is a leading enterprise specializing in the research and production of printed circuit boards. It stands out as a company with a high level of intelligent manufacturing capability.

Within the company, intelligent logistics vehicles freely shuttle between factory buildings and complete automatic loading and unloading through network settings. Within the intelligent laminating workshop, mechanical arms transport boards via machine conveyors, achieving unmanned operation.

"Over 95 percent of our factory's equipment is interconnected and systematically controlled through networks. After the transformation, the company can save more than 50 percent in personnel allocation," said Xu Liang, the public relations manager of Shennan Circuits.

Also situated in NHIZ is Xudong Automotive Parts Manufacturing (Nantong) Co Ltd, which has implemented a smart factory applied 5G technology. The application of 5G and digital innovation technology has led to an over 80 percent increase in production efficiency and more than 50 percent savings in labor costs.
