New quality productive forces | Rudong works to advance emerging industries
Rudong, a county in Nantong, Jiangsu province, has been advancing the development of emerging industries to develop new quality productive forces.
The county has introduced a number of projects related to emerging industries.
Among them is Tongkun Holding's polyester project in Yangkou Port, which completed its first phase of construction and commenced operation at the end of last year. Eight sets of polyester spinning devices and two sets of pure terephthalic acid, or PTA devices, have all been put into operation, with an estimated nearly 10 billion yuan ($1.39 billion) in taxable sales expected to be achieved in the first quarter.
Tongkun's other investment in Rudong, Jiangsu Jiatong Energy Co Ltd, will also be put into full operation.
"Jiatong Energy's comprehensive production will join forces with Nantong Home Textile City, forging a new integrated industrial chain that spans both production and sales," said Shen Hanshun, deputy general manager of Jiangsu Jiatong Energy Co Ltd.
He added that the company has also promoted the low-consumption, efficient, and healthy development of the PTA industry through the introduction of a series of green and efficient technologies, promoting the structural adjustment, transformation and upgrading of the chemical fiber industry.
Nantong Chenghong Precision Machinery Co Ltd, located in the Rudong Economic Development Zone, has been engaged in the production of high-reliability connectors for over 10 years. Currently, the company mainly operates numerical control machine tools, milling and turning compound machines, and wiring machines and produces related products such as housings, insulators, and pins.
After setting up operations in Rudong, the company has increased efforts to explore intelligent production and achieved accelerated development. Currently, 80 percent of its products are supplied to the domestic aerospace and military industries.
