Tongzhou district in Nantong, Jiangsu province, has been actively promoting the intelligent construction and digitalization transformation of enterprises, leading to rapid local industrial development.

In 2023, Tongzhou achieved 140.52 billion yuan ($19.53 billion) in gross industrial output, with taxable industrial sales reaching 131.3 billion yuan, increases of 10.3 percent and 11.84 percent, respectively.

Shennan Circuits Company Ltd, located in the Nantong High-Tech Industrial development Zone, is one of the companies that have experienced rapid growth through intelligent transformation.

"Over 95 percent of our factory's equipment is now interconnected and systemically controlled. The transformation has reduced the company's personnel costs by over 50 percent," said Xu Liang, public relations manager of Shennan Circuits.

Thanks to te advanced level of its intelligent manufacturing, the company was selected as a provincial-level demonstration factory for intelligent manufacturing in 2023.

To encourage more enterprises to promote intelligent reforms, Tongzhou implemented nearly 1,000 related projects in 2022 and 2023 and provided free diagnostic services to 495 local companies in need, driving the implementation of 265 intelligent technological transformation projects.

Ni Jianzhong, director of the Tongzhou development and reform commission, said that in 2024, the district's plan is to provide another 350 free diagnostic projects to guide enterprises in their intelligent and digital transformation efforts.
