Nantong, Indonesia work together to foster marine talent

A seminar on cooperation on the cultivation of marine talent between Nantong and Jakarta, Indonesia recently took place at Jiangsu Shipping College in the Chinese city.
Representatives from Jakarta shared the achievements made by Indonesia in developing transportation and cultivating talent. They also expressed a desire to enhance exchanges and cooperation with Nantong in the two fields.

Both sides agreed to further cooperation in marine education between the two cities' schools. They will work together to cultivate transportation professionals, develop educational resources, and offer training.
The China (Nantong) – Indonesia (Jakarta) Marine Talent Training Base and the China (Nantong) – Indonesia (Jakarta) Zheng He Cultural Exchange Center, which honors Zheng He, a legendary Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) admiral, mariner and diplomat, were unveiled on the same day.

Following the seminar, Indonesian guests also visited the navigation simulator, simulation training center, water safety training center, maritime culture hall, and port operation training room at the college.
The Jiangsu Shipping College has fostered a wealth of marine talent in recent years and actively responded to the Belt and Road Initiative to seek international cooperation, including running the Zheng He Shipping College in Indonesia with a local university.
