The production base of Gold Hongye Paper (Nantong) Co Ltd has significantly boosted its efficiency by leveraging advanced technology in recent years.

Specifically, the electricity consumption per metric ton of paper production has dropped from 1,100 kilowatt-hours to nearly 500 kilowatt-hours, and its workforce has reduced from 8,000 to 2,000 employees. Every six minutes, a truck transports the base's products to destinations worldwide.

"We have achieved full automation tracking in the entire logistics process, from material transportation to production and finally the delivery of finished products worldwide. Each step is traceable," said Lin Weizhu, vice-general manager of the company.

Established in Dec 2017, the company is located in the Lingang Industrial Zone in Rudong, a county in Nantong, Jiangsu province. It mainly focuses on the production and sales of lifestyle paper products under brands like Breeze, Emporia, and Virjoy.

As a key project in APP Group's strategy for intelligent manufacturing and digitization, the production base has invested 2.21 billion yuan ($307.21 million) in intelligent transformation. The intelligent production workshop extensively applies digital technology and utilizes world-leading production data automation systems and production automation equipment.

Lin said that the base's intelligent security system platform encompasses 78 scenarios. Through the comprehensive utilization of big data, it collects and analyzes unsafe employee behaviors, identifies risk factors, and promptly feeds the information back to a central control, enhancing the security and control level of the facility.

Recognized as a representative enterprise in technological innovation and intelligent design in the manufacturing industry, the company was recently included in the list of the provincial-level upgraded intelligent manufacturing demonstration workshops for 2023.
