Rudong county in Nantong, Jiangsu province achieved a regional gross domestic product of 138.11 billion yuan ($19.23 billion), marking a growth of 6.5 percent year-on-year, the top position in growth rate among the seven counties in Nantong.

The value added in the primary sector reached 104.2 billion yuan, growing by 3.7 percent. The secondary sector contributed 648.1 billion yuan, experiencing a growth of 7.6 percent, while the tertiary sector saw an added value of 628.9 billion yuan, with a growth rate of 5.7 percent.

In 2023, the county's general public budget revenue reached 7.10 billion yuan, fixed asset investment totaled 53.5 billion yuan, and the output value of large-scale industries reached 197 billion yuan. The county boasts 12 enterprises with tax payments exceeding 1 billion yuan.

The economic progress is attributed to the government's efforts in promoting the development of the real economy. Rudong introduced a series of policies, including 44 measures to support and benefit enterprises. This resulted in additional tax and fee reductions, and refunds totaling 3.06 billion yuan. The county delivered supportive funds amounting to 648 million yuan and fostered 19,000 new business entities.

The development of industries has also spurred the introduction of projects. In 2023, the county signed and registered 53 projects, each with an investment of over $30 million, accumulating a total actual use of foreign capital of $287 million, the highest in Nantong.

Construction commenced on 29 projects with an investment of over 500 million yuan, including 13 major projects at the provincial and municipal levels.

Rudong is also actively implementing 330 projects under the intelligent transformation initiative. This effort has positioned the county's provincial enterprise technology centers and municipal intelligent workshops as leaders in terms of new undertakings in Nantong.
