At the dawn of the new year, multiple enterprises in Nantong's Tongzhou district, particularly in the Shigang Technology Industrial Park, are revving up their operations to achieve a strong start in the first quarter.

Nantong Sunion Electronic Co Ltd stands out as a high-tech company specializing in research, manufacturing, and sale of aluminum electrolytic capacitors. Their products are used in energy-efficient smart lighting, industrial control, 5G communication, and the emerging fields of new energy and electric vehicles.

To expand production capacity, Sunion Electronic has constructed a new facility in Shigang dedicated to the professional production of consumer electronic components. Since the launch of the first phase of the project, the company has introduced new equipment to replace existing production lines, significantly boosting production efficiency to meet the growing market demand.

Currently, the company has invested in a total of 16 fully automated production lines. With the robust support of the new production lines, Sunion Electronic achieved a sales revenue of 89 million yuan ($12.4 million) in 2023. This year, they anticipate a first-quarter sales revenue of 21.5 million yuan, marking a 20 percent year-on-year growth.

Meanwhile, Nantong Tongzhou Jianghua Textile Co Ltd, an established non-woven fabric manufacturer in Shigang, embarked on a comprehensive transformation in 2019. They phased out outdated spinning equipment and invested over 200 million yuan in new water-jet non-woven fabric and melt-blown production lines.

As of now, Jianghua Textile has secured orders until the end of February, maintaining a daily uptime of over 98 percent in the entire workshop. In the first quarter, they expect to achieve sales of 1.8 billion yuan.
