In a bid to enhance its industrial competitiveness, Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, Jiangsu province, has been actively attracting new industrial projects and fostering related industrial chains.

Jiangsu Hongsheng New Materials Co Ltd, established in 2012, is a modern enterprise integrating production, research and development, and trade. In May 2020, the company initiated a third-phase project with a total investment of 5 billion yuan ($695.18 million).

Once fully operational, the project will specialize in producing core products such as fiber slices, membrane-grade slices, multi-functional nylon fibers, and modified plastics.

In December last year, a new production base for precision stainless steel strip commenced construction in Hai'an.

As an investment from Beicai Nantong Metal Technology Co Ltd, the project included the construction of a new 40,000-square-meter plant with advanced high-speed production lines.

Upon reaching full capacity, the facility is expected to reach the annual capacity of 600,000 metric tons and generate annual sales exceeding 10 billion yuan.

As one of the major science and innovation projects introduced in the city, Liding Environment Protection Co Ltd started operating in the Hai'an High-tech Zone in September last year.

Recognized as a national high-tech enterprise and conforming to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's standards for environmental equipment manufacturing in the wastewater treatment sector, Liding Environment Protection is a professional manufacturer of sewage treatment equipment.

Discussing the rationale behind investing in the city, the company's chairman, He Haizhou, stated, "The strong innovation atmosphere here, combined with the excellent services provided by the technology attraction team, has helped the company solve many challenges."

Thanks to the contributions of these projects to the industrial development of Hai'an, the city secured an impressive 16th position in the national ranking of top 100 industrial counties in 2023.
