World Robot Contest Trials held in Nantong

The trials of the 2023 World Robot Contest for teenagers themed on drones in East China's Jiangsu province took place in the province's Nantong city on Dec 17.

More than 300 contestants in 146 groups from 71 schools in the province participated in the contests for programmed logistics and spherical drones.

Contestants of the programmed logistics competition are required to operate drones to collect and unload cargo via programmed control to showcase their ability to program, plan routes, and collaborate while the spherical drone contest is about fighting between drones, and is expected to test contestants' teamwork ability in operating them.

The trials were aimed at inspiring contestants' research and innovation spirit and featured science promotion and ornamental value.

Part of the World Robot conference, the World Robot Contest, reputed as the Olympics of robots, has been held for eight years since its first edition in 2015 and has been attended by over 200,000 contestants from more than 20 countries.
