Nantong public libraries win national recognition

Nine public libraries in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, were recently rated as first-class by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Here are some of the public libraries.
Qidong Library includes two venues on Minle Road and Qiantangjiang Road, and has a combined collection of over 2.1 million books. Both venues include reading rooms for adults, children, magazines and ancient books, as well as an e-reading room.
Put into service in 2021, the new Haimen Library is divided into several independent and open sections for adults, children, reading, and activities. With four quadrangle structures, the new library creates a strong atmosphere for private study.

Hai'an Library features digital service with borrowing available after online searches. Since 2009, people have been able to borrow books, use computers, watch movies, and download materials in the library free of charge. The library houses more than 200,000 books available for lending and arranges different reading activities all year round.
Tongzhou District Library is home to nearly 1.33 million books. In addition to regular rooms, it also has reading rooms for visual impaired people as well as lecture halls and 24-hour self-service access.
