AlphaESS, a high-tech company located in Tongzhou district, Nantong, Jiangsu province, has been awarded the Chinese Design Silver Award for its new type of household energy storage wall-mounted inverter.

The award marks a significant milestone in the district's journey towards achieving excellence in patent innovation. Prior to this achievement, Tongzhou had already seen six patents receive the Chinese Patent Excellence Award.

AlphaESS's award-winning product is the result of the culmination of several generations of technological advancements. The design patent has enhanced the product's visibility and added value, leading to its popularity in both domestic and international markets. As of the end of 2022, the sales turnover for the patented product series had reached 176 million yuan ($24.09 million).

Established in 2012, AlphaESS has consistently ranked among the top three companies in terms of market share of energy storage products in markets such as Australia and Germany. The company has expanded its presence to over 60 countries and regions worldwide.

In recent years, Tongzhou district has prioritized meeting the practical needs of businesses, with a focus on empowering innovation through intellectual property.

In 2022, the district saw a significant increase in patent authorizations, with 4,931 new patents granted, including 719 invention patents. As of the end of 2022, the district had 6,208 valid invention patents, a year-on-year growth of 13.22 percent.
