Nantong secures projects worth $900m in Singapore

Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province organized an event named "New Exploration of High-level Opening-up in the Yangtze River Delta Singapore-Nantong Dialogue" in Singapore on Aug 18 local time.
The event was attended by more than 150 participants from all walks of life in the country, including Zhou Yuyun, minister-counselor at the Chinese embassy in Singapore.
Wu Xinming, Party secretary of Nantong, introduced the city's regional advantages, industrial foundation, and innovation environment as an opening for the event.
He said that Nantong is located in the center of the Yangtze River Delta which boasts the most dynamic economic development, the highest level of opening up, and the strongest innovation capacity.
With the further implementation of the YRD integration strategy, more spotlights have shone on Nantong where businesses can expect to embrace a broad market and enjoy high-quality supporting facilities and efficient services, added Wu.
At the roundtable forum, Wu delivered a speech revolving around the opportunities for cooperation between Nantong and Singapore.
He noted that both sides can deepen cooperation in industrial development, sci-tech innovation, industrial park development, port and shipping services, and city construction.
During the event, Nantong secured 12 industrial projects worth $908 million in total and signed strategic cooperation agreements with the representative office of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Singapore, the Singapore Manufacturers' Association, the Singapore-China Business Association, and the Jiangsu Association (Singapore).
