Nantong has also formulated a plan of One Hub and Five Goals, which envisions an integrated modern transportation hub, a national innovative city, a model of YRD integration, a city with river and sea features, a low-carbon garden city, and a happy city suitable for daily life and work.
To achieve these goals, the city will attract more investments in its competitive industries such as shipbuilding and marine engineering, high-end textiles, and high-end equipment manufacturing.
It will also seek cooperation with national platforms, high-level institutes, enterprises and universities to make breakthroughs in key technologies.
It will also roll out more attractive and competitive policies concerning technological innovation and talent attraction and improve incentive policies to encourage Nantong-born young people and university graduates to start businesses in the city.
