The opening ceremony of the 2023 Shanghai-Qidong Cultural Week and Shanghai-Qidong Printmaking Exchange Exhibition opened on June 29 at the Qidong Art Museum.
The exhibition showcased more than 70 printmaking works, including woodcuts, copperplates and digital watermarks, demonstrating modern printmaking styles in Shanghai and Qidong. This has laid a new foundation for the exchange and development of printmaking art between the two places.
Shanghai-Qidong Cultural Week is meant to promote cultural exchanges between Shanghai and Qidong.
In addition, this cultural week will showcase different forms of literary and artistic works such as Yue opera and pingtan (Chinese traditional storytelling and ballad-singing that originated in the Suzhou area).
The creation exchange base of the Printmaking Art Committee of the Shanghai Artists Association was also unveiled during the opening ceremony.
