Chongchuan makes efforts to boost industrial development
Chongchuan district in Nantong, Jiangsu province, is stepping up efforts to boost its industrial development, an important driver for the local economy.
As part of these efforts, the district has established industrial parks in different fields, including a 4.3-square-kilometer industrial park for digital and intelligent transportation, a 7-square-kilometer industrial park for intelligent equipment and a 17-square-kilometer industrial park for life and healthcare.
These well-equipped parks are attracting an increasing number of projects. For example, several international well-known service firms, including KPMG and PwC, have established a business presence in the district in recent years.
In addition, Chongchuan has been focusing on the development of talent. The district has established cooperation with universities, such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Nankai University, to jointly cultivate innovative talent.
This year, Chongchuan also launched an implementation plan that demonstrates the district's commitment to cultivating 2,000 high-profile talents and over 5,000 high-skilled talents in the coming five years.
Currently, Chongchuan is home to nearly 250,000 talents. The expanding talent pool has advanced entrepreneurship in the district.
According to local authorities, about 85 percent of unicorn enterprises and potential unicorn firms in Chongchuan were founded by leading talent.
