Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, is advancing the transformation of traditional industries this year.

Technological upgrading based on big data, industrial internet, and artificial intelligence is included in the transformation.

Jiangsu Welm Technology Co Ltd is one enterprise that has experienced technological upgrading.

This year, Welm opened three new production lines that adopt surface mount technology, or SMT, and introduced intelligent lightening goods shelves and fully automatic stereoscopic warehouses.

Additionally, the company has upgraded its original clean assembly plant to a dust-free plant, which has helped increase its production capacity from about 8 million pieces to about 12 million.

Nantong Dongyi Fiber Co Ltd in the Hai'an demonstration park for technology also benefits from intelligent reconstruction and digital transformation.

In March, the company held a promotional event for its products, which attracted the attendance of nearly 200 enterprises in the textile industry. At the event, Dongyi’s fabrics were well-received for their advanced technology.

Zhang Zirui, chairman of Dongyi, said that the company has set up a team for research and development that has applied for 27 patents.
