Supporting measures help develop more 'little giant' companies in Rudong
Rudong county in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, is promoting the innovative development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
Authorities have taken measures such as providing financial support and professional services for investment, financing, and technological research and development.
Jiangsu Roda Electron Material Co Ltd, a local enterprise that specializes in the electronic information industry, is among the beneficiaries of the measures.
Last year, Road developed 5G high-speed copper-clad laminates, which have helped the company be listed as a national-level "little giant" – a well-deserved honor for the highly specialized and sophisticated enterprise.
"Little giants" typically specialize in business niches, command high market share, and boast strong innovation capacity.
To further encourage the growth of "little giant" enterprises, the county has introduced policies that offer subsidies of 200,000 yuan ($27,991), 100,000 yuan, and 50,000 yuan to new national, provincial, and municipal "little giant" companies, respectively.
Additionally, the county has established various carrier platforms to attract more innovative enterprises in various fields. These include a 150,000-square-meter industrial park for life and healthcare, a 110,000-square-meter industrial park for semiconductors, and a 60,000-square-meter industrial park for intelligent electromechanics.
Thanks to these supportive measures, Rudong is currently home to two national "little giant" enterprises and 29 provincial ones.
