Haimen launches venture week
Authorities in Haimen district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, held a venture week event on May 25, which was designated Haimen Talent Day.
More than 400 representatives from prestigious universities, industry-leading enterprises, and high-tech local companies attended the event.
Authorities awarded 10 outstanding talents and outlined the district's talent program at the event, during which agreements on more than 20 projects were reached.
A digital transformation campaign aimed at providing better services to talent was also launched at the event.
A series of supporting activities such as new technology engagement meetings, venture contests, and road shows was also held during the week.
Haimen is currently home to 136 national talents, 109 provincial talents, and 15 innovation teams.
This is largely due to the implementation of a series of measures by authorities over the past 10 years, including rolling out more than 30 policies, holding a series of activities like venture week, entrepreneurship contests and road shows, and establishing a talent fund.
The district has granted 1 billion yuan ($141.29 million) to attract more than 300 projects operated by these top professionals during the period.
