Rudong attracts investment from Germany and France
Rudong, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, dispatched a delegation to several European countries, including France and Germany, from April 20 to 27 as part of efforts to attract more investment.
During the trip, the delegation visited nearly 10 renowned enterprises and investment promotion organizations, including the headquarters of SNF Group, a French manufacturer of polyacrylamides.
During the visit, the delegation held a meeting with Rene Pich, founder of the company, and Pascal Rémy, the chief executive officer, and discussed the group’s second phase project in Rudong.
The two sides also reached a consensus about investing in a third phase project worth $200 million in the county.
In addition, the delegation also held the 2023 China Rudong Germany BASF Economic and Trade Symposium in Heidelberg, Germany, which was attended by more than 10 executives of BASF SE, a German chemical producer.
BASF set up its first ever formulation and packaging plant in Rudong ten years ago.
Over the past ten years, the products developed and produced by the plant have been exported to many countries and regions.
According to a BASF spokesperson, the company is confident in the business-friendly environment in Rudong and will cooperate more with the county in the future.
This trip has helped the county attract three projects with a combined investment of $500 million.
