Construction started on 30 key projects in Rudong, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on Feb 11, local media reported.

The projects, with a total of 10.4 billion yuan ($1.53 billion) in funding, involve solar manufacturing, new materials, biologicals, and intelligent equipment.

One of the projects is a manufacturing facility funded by Microgel Nantong Technology Co Ltd. It is expected to have a taxable turnover of 2.4 billion yuan and pay about 115 million yuan in taxes after it achieves its target output.

Microgel Nantong Technology Co Ltd is a local high-tech enterprise that specializes in the new materials industry.

The company currently owns five independent innovation patents and advanced technology in the field of new materials.

Chen Jiajian, general director of Microgel, said that the new manufacturing facility will focus on resource conservation and clean production, which will advance the green development of the county.
