Lyusi port area of Qidong welcomes 100th foreign ship
The Malta cargo ship berthed at the general terminal of the Lyusi port area in the county-level city of Qidong, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on Feb 6, becoming the 100th foreign ship to be received since the terminal started operating late last year.
The cargo ship will carry 718 pieces of steel and 17,059.25 cubic meters of equipment and modules to the United States.
The 100,000-metric-ton general terminal of the Lyusi port area has a total shoreline of 556 meters and a width of 42 meters.
Its designed annual capacity for general cargo is 7.1 million tons, including wind turbine blades, mechanical equipment, steel and building materials.
In 2022, the terminal received 94 ships, generating an operating revenue of 91.81 million yuan ($13.53 million), with a throughput of 1.85 million cu m.
In January, Nantong Tongyang Port Co Ltd, the operator of the terminal, achieved an operating income of 8.6 million yuan and completed a throughput of nearly 100,000 cu m.
