Tongzhou district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, recently added three provincial demonstration zones for the construction of ecological civilization, local media reported.

The three zones are Xianfeng subdistrict, Sigang village in Shigang town and Zhangmen village in the Jinxin subdistrict.

Tongzhou is currently home to one national demonstration zone for the construction of ecological civilization and 29 provincial ones.

The recognition is the result of the district's constant efforts to advance the construction of ecological civilization.

Tongzhou authorities have been focusing on the improvement of the rural environment and the reconstruction of facilities such as public toilets and garbage treatment equipment.

In addition, the district has implemented a number of ecological construction projects in recent years.
