Tongzhou district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, held its first recruitment fair of the year on Jan 30, local media reported.

During the fair, 88 enterprises offered a total of 563 jobs in various industries. More than 1,000 people attended the fair, 316 of whom reached tentative agreements with companies.

Among the enterprises participating in the fair is Kanghui Nantong New Materials Co Ltd, which booked its booth two weeks in advance and plans to recruit more than 1,000 people this year.

At the fair, Tongzhou district human resource authorities distributed more than 500 policy leaflets that include recruitment information and training to guide people struggling to find jobs.

The fair is part of the district's efforts this year to promote employment.

Next, Tongzhou will hold the job fair every Friday at the district human resources market. In addition, online job fairs and related livestreams will be held, according to human resources authorities.
