Tongzhou, leader in high-quality development
Tongzhou district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, ranked 15th among the top 100 high-quality development areas in China, local media reported.

Tongzhou's GDP in 2021 reached 159.42 billion yuan ($21.98 billion), with an average growth rate of 8.6 percent in the past decade. The industrial added value reached 67.71 billion yuan, 2.1 times that of ten years ago.
The district has developed three major industries, including automobiles, new-generation information technology and intelligent equipment. To date, it has introduced over 200 enterprises above designated size in this respect.
In addition, the district has been encouraging the updating and transformation of traditional industries.
The district's home textile industry, which has an annual trade value exceeding 100 billion yuan, has been accelerating its transition into a more modern industry powered by cutting-edge technology.
Tongzhou has also been making efforts to provide better services to enterprises. There are six departments in the district setting up self-service stations open 24 hours a day.
Due to the strong business environment, the number of enterprises in Tongzhou in 2022 increased by 479 percent over 2012.
