A panel discussion focusing on "following the model of Zhang Jian to cultivate more Nantong-style entrepreneurs" was held during the fifth plenary session of the 12th Nantong Municipal Commission of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference on Jan 19, with CPPCC members making various suggestions.
Huang Zhengping: More efforts should be made to spread the style of entrepreneurship of Zhang Jian, a local industrial pioneer in modern China, and to help raise Nantong's reputation at home and overseas.
Chen Hui: Nantong should give full play to the Zhang Jian Entrepreneurs Institute to make a name for local businesspeople.
Shi Lei: Nantong should optimize its current preferential policies, learn the real needs of local enterprises, and improve government services to promote the high-quality development of local brands.
Jin Xin: Emphasis should be placed on domestic circulation and on accelerating smart manufacturing, so that the traditional textile industry can update themselves to modern high-end textile techniques.
Huang Yonghua: A patriotism education center can be built to pass on Zhang Jian's entrepreneurship to the younger generation.
Other CPPCC members also made suggestions on taking advantages of cultural resources related to Zhang Jian to develop tourism programs, helping local entrepreneurs establish proper development outlooks, and continuing efforts to improve Nantong's business environment.
