A two-month ticket discount for bullet trains D5502 and D5544 linking Nantong and Nanjing will begin on April 1, according to officials at the China Railway Shanghai Group Co.

Tickets for train D5502 traveling from Nanjing to Nantong will be sold at a 10 percent discount every day from April 1 to June 30.

Equally discounted tickets will also be available for train D5544 traveling from Nantong to Nanjing on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

A second-class seat for train D5502 currently costs 95.5 yuan ($13.48). The discounted price will be only 86 yuan.

The two trains are among 12 trains on the Nanjing-Anqing route and Nanjing-Qidong route that will be affected by the preferential policy.

The other 10 trains are D5610, D5622, D5641, D5651, D5653, D5664, D5666, G7168, G7170 and G7288, linking Shanghai and Nanjing with major cities in Anhui province.
