The annual Ganlu black carp fishing season kicked off on Jan 8 at the Wuxi Modern Fishery Industrial Park in Jiangsu province, marking a vibrant start to the Chinese New Year festivities.
This grand celebration combines a fishing festival, market experience, and brand enhancement. With a resounding cheer of "Fish up!" the eagerly awaited first Ganlu black carp made a spectacular debut, swiftly delivered to the main event venue by an SF Express unmanned vehicle.
Leveraging a network of unmanned vehicles and drones, Ganlu black carp can now be delivered within half a day anywhere in the city, and the same day throughout the province.

"This year we're seeing a bumper harvest," said Zhang Ming, a local fisherman. "The average weight of the black carp caught is estimated to be between 6.5 and 7 kilograms, with the largest one exceeding 10 kg."
This year's total production of Ganlu black carp is projected to reach 1.29 million kg, with the industrial park alone contributing 600,000 kg, reflecting steady growth from previous years. Many bulk buyers have already secured their supplies in advance, with peak single-purchase volumes surpassing tens of thousands of kilograms.
During the strategic cooperation signing ceremony, the Ganlu black carp finalized annual strategic agreements with SF Express, Chaoli Supply Chain, and several other companies. This collaboration channels resources from technology, media, logistics, and food processing sectors into the fishery industry.
The Chinese New Year goods market was bustling with citizens eager to purchase local specialties and seasonal goods, including fresh fruits and vegetables. On-site chefs prepared black carp feasts, showcasing traditional methods of cooking and preparation as they conjured up smoked fish and fish balls, alongside innovative black carp dishes.
The rise of Ganlu black carp is a vivid illustration of Wuxi's agricultural brand development. Currently, the city boasts six products in the China Agricultural Brand Directory and three products selected for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs' agricultural brand cultivation plan.
The municipal government allocates up to 5 million yuan ($716,000) annually to support brand creation, helping local agricultural products reach broader markets.
