Bühler Group, a global industrial solutions provider, will build its Greater China R&D Innovation Center and innovative food project in Xinwu district, Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, according to a signing ceremony held in Wuxi on April 14.
Bühler Group plans to invest 200 million yuan ($29.09 million) to build the center by making use of its existing Greater China headquarters. The center will become Bühler's largest innovation and R&D center outside of its headquarters in Switzerland.
The innovative food project is funded by Bühler Group and Wuxi Industry Development Group Co Ltd and will develop functional food and produce healthy food.

"It is the right choice to base Bühler Group's Greater China headquarters in Wuxi," said Calvin Grieder, chairman of the Board of Directors of Bühler Group, at his meeting with Mayor of Wuxi Zhao Jianjun.
Grieder noted that it is Wuxi's high-tech resources, professionals, and strong innovative atmosphere that inspired Bühler to build the two projects in the city, and that the group will continue developing and manufacturing advanced products.
With a history of more than 160 years, Bühler Group is one of the largest machinery manufacturers in Switzerland and has funded seven companies in Wuxi, including Bühler (China) Holding Co Ltd, the first company funded by a European investor in Wuxi.
