Giles Barissat, founder of IPEM, visited Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on April 13, local media outlets reported.
Du Xiaogang, Party secretary of Wuxi, met with Barissat and briefed him on the achievements made by the city in high-quality development.
Du noted that Wuxi is ramping up efforts to build a city with prosperous industry and commerce in hopes of becoming a role model of China's path to modernization.
Barissat's visit to Wuxi following his accompanying with French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to China reflects the attention France has attached to China and the country's recognition of Wuxi, he added.
Du expressed hope that both sides will further improve their regular communication mechanism, establish a long-term partnership, and exert their own advantages to make Wuxi a preferable choice for European investors and help Wuxi businesses tap European markets.
He also pledged to offer IPEM the most efficient service and most favorable business environment.
After introducing the conditions of IPEM over the past few years, Barissat said that many European funds are optimistic about Chinese markets and hope to strengthen cooperation with Chinese enterprises in scientific innovation, advanced manufacturing, eco-environment protection, culture, and art.
He invited Wuxi enterprises to attend the 7th edition of IPEM, which is scheduled to take place in France in September, to attract funds and projects catering to the city's development.
Founded in 2016, IPEM is a world-renowned investment summit and exhibitor that hosts two theme activities in France each year, which are attended by thousands of senior executives of investment institutions and commercial representatives from around the world.
