The per capita GDP of Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, was ranked first in China in 2022 with 198,400 yuan ($28,828), local media outlets reported on April 11.
It is the third consecutive year that Wuxi has topped Chinese cities in per capita GDP.

The city's statistical communique in 2022 shows that its GDP rose 3 percent year-on-year last year to nearly 1.5 trillion yuan, the added value of its private economy expanded 3.3 percent from last year to 983.12 billion yuan, and the city offered 158,100 new jobs.
The added value of industrial companies above designated size in Wuxi exceeded 500 billion yuan for the first time in 2022 and the imports and exports in the city surged 8 percent year-on-year to 737.31 billion yuan.

The city's actual use of foreign capital grew 3.6 percent year-on-year to nearly $3.83 billion.
The per capita disposable income of Wuxi residents in 2022 was 65,800 yuan, 1.8 times the national average.
The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents in the city reached 73,300 yuan and 41,900 yuan respectively, 1.5 times and 4.19 times the national averages. The urban-rural income ratio narrowed from 1.78:1 to 1.75:1.
