Xinghua city in Jiangsu province reaped impressive results in its green development last year and that's spurred its appetite for more of the same in the current year.
The city will focus on the integration of agriculture, culture and tourism this year, striving to become a national model area for green development.
To that end, Xinghua has successively launched projects such as returning low-lying, reclaimed farmland called polder at Pingwang Lake and Desheng Lake.
With the water forest area as the core, the city has also in an orderly manner promoted the ecological conservation of 346.67 hectares of wetlands, continuously increasing the green areas.

In addition, the much-loved cole flowers in the Qianduo Cole Flower Scenic Area will welcome its blooming season soon.
Jiang Zhongwei, head of the Kelan Hotel, adjacent to the scenic area, has been looking forward to the arrival of tourists. He said that with the combination of agritainment and homestays, the hotel earned over 400,000 yuan ($55,307) in revenue last year.
Taking the city's northwest region as an example, Xinghua will introduce and develop water sports projects in key scenic areas, including the water sports center and Dazong Lake, vigorously developing its distinctive cultural and tourism industry regions.
The low altitude economy is viewed as being an important area for Xinghua to lay out future industries. The city is striving to build a leading national model involving the low altitude economy with the integration of culture, tourism and industry.
