The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism recently released the latest batch of representative projects for the protection of provincial level intangible cultural heritage.
Of these, nine craftmanship techniques from Xinghua city, located in East China's Jiangsu province, made it onto the list.
They included making techniques for bricks and tiles carving from Daiyao town, ancient bronze ware, tinware, wooden pole scales and furniture.
There were also production methods for liquor-saturated crabs, the salting technique for pig's-head meat and brewing techniques for glutinous rice wine and barley wine.
In recent years, Xinghua has adhered to the combination of inheritance, protection and development, allowing ICH to shine with new vitality in the new era.
Moreover, the city has been actively offering platforms for innovative development of ICH inheritance. It has undertaken various activities such as ICH skill displays, training and lectures and creative research, in a bid to enhance the vitality and inheritance of ICH.
