Lotus blossoms at the former residence of Zheng Banqiao, located in Xinghua city, in East China's Jiangsu province, are beginning to come into bloom.
Zheng Banqiao, a renowned artist and poet active in the 18th century, was supremely skilled in painting orchids, bamboo and stone.
Zheng showed a preference for green bamboo. The ink bamboo he painted is strong, graceful and free-spirited, which is said to reflect the finer qualities in himself.
