The Xinghua Library – located in Xinghua city, in East China's Jiangsu province – organized a mobile book service vehicle to head to six township primary schools on May 15-17, where it delivered over a thousand books, as well as fun and inspiring lectures to children.
The vehicle drove to primary schools in Zhuhong town, Diduo town, Yongfeng town, Shenlun town, Linhu township and Hechen town.
Xinghua writer Xia Xiaoqin also held a themed sharing event, called Learning Reading from Writers, to boost the enthusiasm of the kids.
Named the Library on Wheels, the city's series of mobile book service activities this year was launched at the end of March and it will travel to all townships throughout Xinghua by the end of June.
The aim is to send reading activities to rural areas and plant the seeds of reading, so that they take root and grow in the city.
