The Qinye 2HF shale oil well situated in Dainan town – in Xinghua city, in East China's Jiangsu province – has now completed 600 days of production, according to operator Sinopec East China Oil & Gas Company.
The company said the Qinye 2HF well had become its first shale oil well to realize cumulative production of 30,000 metric tons.
The Qinye 2HF well is a key exploration well that was deployed in the north of Jiangsu basin in 2022 to explore the potential for shale oil exploration in new strata.
Sinopec says it has created multiple production records for shale oil wells in the north of the Jiangsu basin. That's because it lays claim to the fastest oil breakthrough time, highest peak daily oil production and highest cumulative well production.
